As requested, the proposal that the central point

of the celebration of the Colony's centenary should be the

unveiling of a statue of the King was submitted to the Palace,

and we learn that His Majesty has been pleased to approve of

the suggestion.

As regards the other points mentioned in your letter the

gist of the reply from the Palace is that the King prefers that

he should be portrayed in robes and a crown, and that whilst the

King is prepared to leave the question of a sculptor to the Hong

Kong authorities, it has been suggested that Sir William Reid Dick

would be a good choice.
